To Whom It May Concern:
It
has been the good fortune of my family to be a client of ASSIST. My
father, in his declining year, was a resident of a private home in the
San Diego area. All of his family was located far from his residence,
primarily on the East Coast. As is all too frequently the case, we were
either unaware of or in denial regarding his increasing custodial needs.
The trust officer for my father's account contacted ASSIST when they
recognized the need for intervention.
ASSIST
immediately investigated the situation, contacted the family, and provided
a detailed report with recommendations for his care and welfare. The
concern and compassion that ASSIST brought to the situation eased the
family concerns. It was a blessing to have a pseudo family member to
watch over my father, ensuring he was receiving appropriate care, and
most of all, was in an environment where he was the most important factor.
The caring attitude of the ASSIST personnel alleviated a major concern
for all of us.
The
situation developed from a private residence to an assisted living facility
to a nursing home, with frequent hospitalizations along the way. ASSIST
was there every step of the way. They provided guidance, support, information,
and even made decisions (with family permission) throughout the journey.
Communications with family members was constant, timely and accurate.
