Question of the Week - continued
There are also Group Homes, where several seniors live together
in a house and share the cost of rent, housekeeping services, utilities
and meals. Shared Housing may also be a viable choice for the active
senior. In this setting a senior who owns their own home may chose to
share the cost of living at home with another senior. Arrangements are
made which fit the persons involved.
In the case of seniors needing personal care
assistance there are also a few options. Assisted Living Facilities
provide the same services that the Independent Living Retirement Communities
do, plus help with managing medications as well as bathing, dressing and
grooming. Adult Foster Care may also be available through your
local social services department. In this program, families provide meals,
housekeeping and personal care in their own homes.
